Over the past two legislative sessions I have been honored to receive multiple awards for my legislative work.

Gaylord Nelson Award

The 2025 Gaylord Nelson award from WISCAP recognizes a lawmaker for outstanding support of Community Action and low-income families. I am honored to work alongside partners like WISCAP to reduce poverty and promote economic opportunity for all Wisconsinites. 

School Nurses Advocacy Award

The School Nurses Advocacy Award is presented by the Wisconsin Association of School Nurses for advancing policies that support student health and school nurses. I authored several bills to support schools, nurses, and student health, including a bill to increase the percentage of Medicaid funds going back to schools.

Change Maker Award

Presented by Alaafia for my “dedication, leadership, and impactful contributions to advancing Legislative Advocacy for Sickle Cell Families”. Alaafia’s mission is to ensure that every African immigrant and Sickle Cell person has access to the necessary services and personal development tools within their community.

Early Life Saver Award 

Presented by the Early Detection Saves Lives Coalition for my exemplary leadership and dedication in promoting policy that enhances access to supplemental and diagnostic breast examination for those at increased risk of cancer.

Friend of Family Medicine Award 

Presented by the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians for going above and beyond to promote effective healthcare policy and support family medicine in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Conservation Voters 100% Score

I received a 100% score the 2023-2024 legislative session voting to protect Wisconsin’s air, water, land, and democracy.
